Whistleblower and Fraud Reporting Policy
POLICY
The Being For Others Health and Wellness Foundation encourages board members, staff, contractors, and community partners to report any suspected financial misconduct or violations of Foundation policy in good faith and without fear of retaliation.
PROCEDURES
- Reporting: Concerns may be reported confidentially to any of the following:
- The Treasurer of the Board
- The Chair of the Board
- A member of the Executive Committee
- The Foundation’s legal counsel, if appropriate
- Content of Report: Reports should include sufficient detail to support investigation, such as:
- Description of the suspected issue
- Date(s) of the occurrence
- Persons involved or with knowledge
- Supporting documentation, if any
- Investigation: The Treasurer and Chair (or designees not involved in the allegation) will coordinate an appropriate and timely investigation. Legal counsel or outside auditors may be consulted as needed.
- Non-Retaliation: No individual who in good faith reports a concern will be subject to retaliation, harassment, or adverse employment or volunteer consequences. Any act of retaliation will be treated as a serious violation of Foundation policy.
- Confidentiality: Reports and investigations will be handled with discretion, maintaining confidentiality to the extent possible while allowing for a fair and thorough process.
